Si Downey has reached 20 years of exceptional service at St Johns Shopping Centre in Leeds and has recently been presented with his Long Service Certificate.

Si started work at St Johns in 2003 and in that time has proved to be a dedicated, passionate and loyal member of the team.  He was promoted to Team Leader two years ago and has won Employee of the Month on numerous occasions.

A quiet, unassuming man, there isn’t much Si doesn’t know about the Centre and he is the ‘go-to’ person for any information or queries.

“Since taking on the role of Soft Service Manager, Si has been my right arm and I can trust him to deliver all that needs to happen without worry.  Without him I feel both myself and the Centre would be lost,” states Steve Burns, Soft Services Manager at St Johns. “He is both a work colleague and a true friend.”

Si would work every day of the week if he could, he enjoys his work that much and even comes in on his own time to hold one to one meetings with team members that are struggling either at home or at work.

When not at work, Si is a family man and a massive Leeds Rhinos fan.“I have enjoyed every minute of my time here and I am still enjoying it,” says Si.   “I am hopeful that there will be many more years to come and want to thank St Johns Centre and Aston Services Group for their continued support.”

General Manager at St Johns, Andrew Stringer added: “Wow, what an achievement! Our fantastic Security Team Leader, Si Downey, celebrates 20 years of service for the centre this month. A huge thanks to Si for the commitment and hard work over the years, we appreciate every single day you have worked for our centre.”
