Dual Service Officer, Angela Hughes has been recognised by Ashdown Phillips & Partners as their ‘Dare Devil Partner’ for February.

Ashdown Phillips, Property Manager at Ladysmith Shopping Centre, Ashton-under-Lyne awarded Angela the title following her exemplary handling of a challenging situation that occurred whilst she was on duty in February.

Following receipt of a radio call to attend the Heron Foods Store, Angela found that a two-year-old boy was experiencing a seizure and his mother was understandably distraught. Angela calmly requested an ambulance to attend the scene and stayed with the young boy and mother, providing reassurance, until the paramedics arrived.  Angela also offered to let other family members know that they were being taken to hospital.

The boy’s mother returned to Ladysmith the following day to thank staff and advise that her son was fine and undergoing tests.

Lee Ellis, Ladysmith Centre Manager, commented:

“On hearing about the situation and how Angela dealt with it, I had no hesitation in nominating her for the award.  We are really pleased that Angela won and received recognition for her actions.  It was very well deserved, well done!”

This is the first time an employee has received such an award during the ASG tenure at Ladysmith Shopping Centre.

It was an outstanding month in terms of staff going the extra mile with Louise Brown who works in Customer Services at Weston Favell Shopping Centre receiving third place in the same Dare Devil awards for her support with the Fun Club.
