The Living Wage Foundation recently celebrated Living Wage Week, which ran from the 14th to the 20th November 2022. The celebration was supported by events across the country, seeing employers fly the flag for Living Wage and help raise awareness of the foundation’s good works.
ASG is proud to be one of 11,000 accredited UK businesses that provides their employees with a real Living Wage. Since the campaign’s establishment, over 300,000 employees have received a pay rise due to the foundation’s promotional activity and the ongoing support of employers like ASG.
This year’s celebration saw over 1000 people attending more than 30 Living Wage Foundation and Living Wage Employer-led events, with the hashtag #LivingWageWeek reaching over 25 million people. The foundation also gained greater visibility in the press with over 600 press mentions across the week, including coverage in the Independent, The Mirror, and an appearance on the BBC News channel.
As a socially responsible employer, ASG is delighted to continue its support for the Living Wage Foundation as a Living Wage employer, alongside familiar brands like IKEA, Nationwide, Burberry, AVIVA and Oxfam.
Alistair Clayton, ASG Sales Director Cleaning commented, “We are now in our 7th year of being a recognised Real Living Wage service provider with almost 60% of our staff being paid at or above the Real Living Wage, which is much more than is typical in our industry. The Living Wage Foundation has a clear and profound message which we have heard and adopted, and it works well for ASG and our employees.”
He continued, “ASG is making a real impact in our industry and adopting the Living Wage for employees is just one of many factors that make us stand out from the crowd. We are a people-focused business, that consistently delivers the highest of standards, with motivated and dedicated employees.”
